RSHE Information

From September 2020, all primary schools are required by the government to teach Relationships and Health Education as part of their Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) curriculum.  You can find further government guidance relating to this here.

It has been created to help children have positive and safe relationships with anyone they might come into contact with including family, friends, and people online. It will help children make good decisions about their health and wellbeing and enable them to know how and where to seek support if any health issues arise for themselves or others.

If you would like more information about statutory Relationships and Health Education, please click here to read the government guide “Understanding Relationships and Health Education in your child’s primary school: a guide for parents”.

Our draft Relationships Education, and Health Education Policy is attached below. Following engagement with parents, we will be finalising this policy in the Spring term.

A letter to parents of children at Christ Church, explaining the new statutory changes to the PSHE curriculum and how we are sharing these can be found below. This was also emailed to parents on 22nd March 2021. A formal consultation period, to gather parent's views or questions, will begin on 22nd March 2021 and end on 26th March 2021.

PSHE Curriculum Map

This document gives a brief overview of the PSHE curriculum we follow at Christ Church.  We follow the Jigsaw PSHE scheme for all year groups throughout school. The document is split into different sections for each year group and is used by the PSHE leader when planning a unit of work for PSHE.

Below you can also find an information leaflet for parents about the Jigsaw scheme that we use in school.
