Christ Church Reading Spine

We have established list of more than a 100 fiction books that the children will have the

opportunity to read at Christ Church from Nursery through to Year 6. The full list is


Some of these books are core texts that the pupils will explore together as part of their

learning challenges. Others are available to the children to read during ‘reading for pleasure

time’. The children may be allowed to borrow some of these books to read at home.

Alongside the books available for borrowing, are reading activities such as a book review. If

your child reads 3 of these books and completes 3 reading activities during a term, they will

be rewarded with a prize. We hope that this will help the children to get into the habit of

more regular reading and engaging with books and inspire a love of reading that will last a
