Learning Support Practitioner

The post is Fixed Term until 31st August 2017 initially subject to funding but likely to continue.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in our new focussed provision for ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) pupils.  The provision currently hosts 6 pupils but is likely to expand in the coming years.

Our aim is to support ASD children in mainstream school so they can receive their education alongside all the other children attending Christ Church so that Focus Provision children are included in classes throughout school.

We are looking for a highly skilled practitioner (preferably with experience of ASD pupils) to support with the day to day running of activities within the provision and also the wider school context; must be able to use their own initiative, have good time management skills and be able to work as part of a team.  The successful candidate will hold a relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent.

What we can offer:

·         Support and expertise of SENCo and Focus Provision Leader

·         Training and support from Inclusion Support Team within the authority

·         A caring and welcoming staff team

Governors welcome a flexible, dedicated person who will support the caring Christian ethos of the school.

Closing date is Monday 7th November at 10.00am and interviews on Thursday 10th November for successful candidates.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will need to undertake an Enhanced CRB check.

Visits to the school are welcome and encouraged.  For an application form please download from the school website - www.christchurch.sandwell.co.uk in the ‘our school’ section.  Forms can be posted or returned via email to headteacher@christchurch.sandwell.sch.uk
